"My 3 Songs" for Thursday

Goin' to California ... Amy Wirkkala from Ramsey MN writes today, "My sister and I are moving out to California next week. We are leaving everything behind, including The Current, for a brand new start. I feel like these songs help to describe the feelings we both are having at this time. I also feel like this is the last time I have a chance of hearing these amazing artists on the radio. Hearing these songs will help us realize that we are following our California dreams."

1) Billy Bragg and Wilco, "California Stars"
2) Mason Jennings, "California (pt. II)"
3) Kings of Leon, "California Waiting"

Travel well, Amy. I hope CA brings you all the things you're looking for. And don't forget the live stream...

That Wilco/Billy Bragg song is amazing. i'd never heard it before. Actually this whole set was great.

Amy and Pam!! I hope you are well in CA. We MISS you here. That Mason Jennings song is one of my favorites, off his self titled album. Buy Mermaid Avenue if you liked "California Stars." It is a beautiful song.

Wirkkala was the original family name; I hear it's a fairly common last name over in Finland. "California Stars" is one of my all-time favorites, too.

SO HAPPY YOU GUYS PLAYED MY SET!!! Unfortunately, I wasn't in the state to hear it:( Major bummer...Just wanted to say thank you so much!! I miss The Current so much I can't stand it! I am in the process of getting a computer and when I do I'm streaming away! "You Betcha!" Keep rockin forever!
