Mothers Day Brunch

Here we are on Mothers Day. In honor of the Mom, we are spinning an hour of "songs for moms"... Mothers Day Brunch from 11 to noon.
What is your favorite Mothers Day song?
Mine has gotta be Merle Haggard, "Mama Tried"

I think it would be in bad taste to say John Lennon's "Mother," so instead I'll go with a different Lennon song: "Julia".

When I was listening this morning, I heard Bill start, "John Lennon's mother..." and I held my breath: was he going to play "Mother"?? Even worse, "My Mummy's Dead"?!?! When I heard the opening notes of "Julia", though, it really put a smile on my face.

I'll have to check the playlist to see if Lenny Kravitz's "Always on the Run" made the list.

I don't think Lenny made it Julia, which is a shame since he's such a mama's boy. ;)
I also thought about suggesting Three Dog Night's "Mama Told Me Not to Come" but thought better of it.
