"My 3 Songs" for Friday

Posted at 1:37 PM on May 30, 2008 by Steve Seel

Everybody has been digging the springtime sunshine, as we've seen in a number of recent sets ... but since you can't have that all the time during the spring months (like today, for example), sometimes ya just gotta go with what the weather gives you. So Aleah Kraft writes today, "On a cloudy day like this you can't go wrong with moody vocals and industrial beats. It makes me happy."

1) Massive Attack, "Angel"
2) MGMT, "Kids"
3) The Presets, "My People"

Thanks Aleah!

OM Records are a quality destination if you want a little sunny house music, so what better way to TRY to start our summer off here with their recent compilation OM:MIAMI 08 put together in honour of the big electronic music festival that happens in the city every year. It contains most of the upcoming stars of the label including one of our own, Chuck Love who's playing in the home of OM, San Fran tomorrow night, at Temple. Check the Events page, they have DJ's touring all over the country, including a new star of theirs Raashan Ahmad who will be at The Dinkytowner in Mpls on Thursday, June 5th.

The whole compilation is available on CD and here's the excerpt that we played tonight;

Chuck Love - Moonlight (Miami Version)
Fred Everything feat. Lisa Shaw - Here I Am (SF Vocal)
Home & Garden - In & Out (JT Donaldson Dub Re-Edit)
Chubby Dubs - Drifting Away (Nacho Marco Remix)
Florian Kruse - In My Scope
Aaron Sontag & Nica Brooke - Inner Peace(Cates&dpL Growlin Tech Dub)
