"My 3 Songs" for Thursday

Posted at 1:58 PM on April 10, 2008 by Steve Seel

People think I'm insane when I say I'm glad to be home after spending a week in Florida visiting the family. Okay, so I'm not crazy about coming back to a winter storm warning. But let's just say home is where the heart is.

Still, Cassi Benik of Eagan has a summery set today ... to make us all ache even more for that change of season that keeps feeling just out-of-reach. She says, "(These tunes) remind me of summer and make me want to drive my my windows down!"

1) Lily Allen, "LDN"
2) Atmosphere, "Summertime"
3) Peter Bjorn and John, "Young Folks"

More Songs Considered

Posted at 9:00 PM on April 10, 2008 by Mark Wheat

This week I got to use the experience of being on Musicheads and was very pleased to be asked to guest on a podcast done by our friends at NPR, All Songs Considered. It was great to share my love of locals Cloud Cult with the national audience and give props to our friends in Seattle (Cheryl of KEXP was another guest) with Fleet Foxes, and a taste of the UK with The Last Shadow Puppets!
