My Three Songs - 4-7-08

Posted at 12:20 PM on April 7, 2008 by Mac Wilson

Today's socially-minded set comes to us courtesy of Allison Gamble of Duluth, MN.

1. Bruce Springsteen - "Eyes on the Prize"
2. Mavis Staples - "Down in Mississippi"
3. Dixie Chicks - "Not Ready to Make Nice"

In Allison's words: "I just watched a documentary on Pete Seeger, and that reminded me that music can be (in addition to just sounding good and being fun to listen to) capable of inspiring social change." She chose these three songs because they deal with cogent social issues of our day, in addition to being just plain great tracks.
