1967 - Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) was born.
1968 - The Bee Gees made their US television debut on The Ed Sullivan Show.
1975 - Justin Hawkins (The Darkness) was born.
1997 - Jermaine Stewart ("We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off") died of cancer.
2002 - The O Brother, Where Art Thou? Soundtrack was #1.
2006 - The Smiths turned down a five-million dollar deal to reuite for the Coachella Festival.
