A nice one today from Kristin (no home town specified). She writes of her three tunes: "I'm turning 40 today, and am wishing for a set of songs that marked milesontes in my life to this point. The first one was sort of an anthem for me when I kicked some unhealthy habits in my 20's. The second was the song my husband and I chose for our wedding, since it's romantic yet realistic. And the third was a favorite of my older son, who requested it by hollering "Pink Moon" over and over, which somewhat dimished its soothing properties, I think. It's also what I insisted on listening to in the car on the way to the hospital to give birth to my second son.
My sons, now 2 and 4, often insist on CDs rather than the radio in the car, so I have to pick my battles to assert my occasional right to listen to The Current.
1) Sinead O'Connor: "Feel So Different"
2) John Hiatt: "Have A Little Faith"
3) Nick Drake: "Pink Moon"
Happy 40th Kristin, and thanks for a terrific set.
