Now here's a scary thought Kirk Hammett replaced Dave Mustaine in Metallica in 1983 so he's been melting faces for 25 years in the best-known metal band in the world. With history like that, it's no wonder he's been elevated to such iconic status. He's been in the news lately on account of his working with Randall Amplifiers and ESP guitars, to create signature cabinets, stacks and guitars to emulate Metallica's sound. And all that's fine and good if you want to try to sound like Hammett and melt your own face. Or you could just let me and Jill do the honors with our latest episode, featuring his solo from "Creeping Death" off the classic Ride the Lightning album. It's up to you.
