Jason Ochocki of Cannon Falls just finished reading "The Iliad" the Greek classic by Homer.
"Although these songs are not directly about the great epic, they are great songs and they span 3 decades of great British rock!";
The Who - "Athena"
Led Zeppelin - "Achilles Last Stand"
Cream - "Tale of Brave Ulysses"
Great set! The folks down in my grad office here (all of us doing an MA or PhD in classics) really loved the choice/inspiration
On a Homer-related note, I watched O Brother, Where Art Thou? last week, in honor of our local heroes, the Coen brothers.
"Athena" is my all time favorite Who tune! I haven't heard it on the radio in years! Sweet!!!!!
