Modest Mouse and The National will be the supporting acts on R.E.M.'s upcoming tour.
Writers Guild of America have come to an interim agreement to allow The Grammys to go on as planned.

1952 - Thomas Erdelyi (Tommy Ramone, The Ramones) was born.
1953 - Louie Perez (Los Lobos) was born.
1964 - Roddy Frame (Aztec Camera) was born.
1979 - Brenda Spencer killed two people and wounded nine others when she fired a .22-caliber rifle from her house towards Cleveland Elementary School. When asked why she did it, she answered “I don't like Mondays.” This was the inspiration for The Boomtown Rats' song.
1992 - Willie Dixon died.
2006 - Arctic Monkeys' debut album Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not was #1 in the UK.
