"My 3 Songs" for Wednesday

Posted at 1:28 PM on January 2, 2008 by Steve Seel

As most of us return to the regular work grind today, Lori Sandoval of Mpls writes, "I'm requesting these songs because without the excitement of fun songs, I would freak out. It's the only the thing that helps me keep it together while I'm working. Yahoo! Let's dance!"

1) Lee Rocker, "String Bass, Guitar and a Drum"
2) Pulp, "This Is Hardcore"
3) Sound Team, "Handfull of Billions"

That's a fine way to get us into the new year; thanks Lori.

New Year. New Rhymefest. New Kid Dakota.

I don't know if Michael Jackson should be flattered or not, but Rhymefest has released a new album that is a "dedication" to MJ and - get this - free to download. To quote my good friend Gabe, "It's the Grey Album but with MJ instead of the Beatles." Let's see what kind of lawsuit might follow this album...

Kid Dakota's new release "A Winner's Shadow" isn't available until March 11th, but you can hear the new track "Port Authority" on their MySpace page. They'll be leaking a new track to MySpace everyday 10 days or so until the album comes out.
