Manic Street Preachers will receive NME's Godlike Genius award.
Today In Music History:
1950 - Martha Johnson (Martha And The Muffins) was born.
1959 - Grant Marshall (Daddy-G, Massive Attack) was born.
1961 - The Tokens' tune "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" was #1.
1979 - Joy Division played their one and only concert in Paris.
2000 - Kirsty MacColl was killed in a boating accident.
2003 - Michael Jackson was charged with seven counts of child molestation and two counts of giving liquor to a minor.
So Spin picked Rilo Kiley's awful, terrible, latest album for number 40? So are we to assume that this was one of the worst years for albums, as in there was nothing else out there, or that Spin's critics are hard of hearing? This has got to be the wrong list! They must mean the top 40 WORST albums of all year. (of which Rilo Kiley did very nicely with this one)
