Guest DJ Set 12-21-07

Happy Solstice Everyone!
We celebrate the longest night of the year by beginning to review The Top 3 Guest DJ Sets of the year. Next Friday we'll play #2 and then on New Year's Eve at midnight we'll kick into the #1, in it's 72 minute entirety!

#3 is not as dance oriented as the others, Kid Koala seems unique in DJing circles, treating the turntables as an instrument that can recreate the sounds of other instruments through skilful manipulation of samples. But he does it in a very 'approachable' way writing songs that are true to the formal structure of such. From the manner in which he finds new, innovative ways to present his music live and the art work that adorns his cds and web pages, he also, obviously takes the art of being an entertainer very seriously, but in a fun way! Enjoy his 30 minute set that was released as one cd but has two 15 minute 'sides' it's called "your mom's favourite DJ". Happy Holidaze!!
