I have often said that if I had to be pinned down to choosing ONE fave band, it would be Led Zep. Having been too young at their peak to see them live I must admit I am a little excited about their return to live performance next Monday at the O2 Arena London, which is unfortunately plagued with poor sound, but rumour abounds that if the show goes well they will tour next year, so keep your fingers crossed! The NME reported last week that the band started practice by playing 'No Quarter' and then 'Kashmir'. It will be interesting to see the set-list and today NME asked for their readers suggestions, what are yours?
List up to 5 and perhaps we'll play a few on Monday night to celebrate or am I the only one getting excited about this?
Achilles Last Stand. Do it for T Lo!
Achilles Last Stand ... RIGHT ON!!!
What is and What Should Never Be
Dancing Days
That's The Way
When The Levee Breaks
In the Evening
You're not alone Mark! I too would have loved to have seen them live but was too young at the time. So many good tunes, hard to pick just 5, but here goes:
The Song Remains the Same (from the live album of the same name)
Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
Nobody's Fault But Mine
Achillies Last Stand
When The Levee Breaks
i forgot Babe I'm Gonna Leave You.
VERY IMPORTANT!!
I wanna hear the ghosts.
The Song Remains the Same
Black Dog
What Is and What Should Never Be
Kashmir
Ten Years Gone
Not even necessarily my favorite LZ songs per se, but if they were putting together a 5-song concert, I think these 5 would do the trick rather well.
Immigrant Song
The Ocean
No Quarter
Kashmir
Rock and Roll
It's been so long since I've listened to any Zep that I have a hard time remembering some of the albums and songs.
Though I would love to hear "Hot Dog" again just for fun
Your Time Is Gonna Come
Going To California
Out On The Tiles
When The Levee Breaks
Ramble On
Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
Black Dog
Over The Hills And Far Away
In The Evening
Todd - I still have Zep on vinyl. Admittedly, I bought it in the 80's in my teen years, but it still sounds great after 20+ years!
