James Harden of Rochester is the second person in the last week to weigh-in on "the three best performances from Lollapalooza" (but unlike our last submitter, James didn't register any opinion one way or another on one particular rehab-averse singer).
1) The Hold Steady, "Chips Ahoy"
2) My Morning Jacket, "Lay Low"
3) Kings of Leon, "McFearless"
Hey I think I would be cool to play Oh Alabama by Neil Young followed by Sweet Home Alabama and then top it off with Southern Man by Neil Young again. First you would have to explain the correlation to the listener audience. Neil young wrote Oh Alabama after one of his visits there. It inspired him to comment on the racial and economic class divisions of the region. He stated that they have alot of good things going for them, (money, beautiful land, ect.), or in other words one wheel on the track. He compared that with their racial and economice divisions that still existed at the time, (One wheel in the ditch). Lynyrd Skynyrd heard his song and had a different opinion, (being native to the area). He replied in song saying "Well I heard mister Young sing about her
Well, I heard ole Neil put her down
Well, I hope Neil Young will remember
A Southern man don't need him around anyhow".
Neil Youngs response song Southern Man doesn't need much explaination.
Thanks and Keep on rocking out Radio Free Current
