Today's Song for Red - One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Nine, or Ten

Despite that iPod ad, Feist's The Reminder continues to receive heavy airplay at home and "1234" is one of those songs that stops us in our tracks and demands that we turn our living room into a dance floor. Some of my male colleagues here at The Current (and they know who they are!) just don't appreciate this song as much as I do. I think if they could see the way Red reacts to it, they might hear it differently.

It must be the counting in the song that does it for her. It's like the counting she does when she jumps rope, or the rhymes she does when she's playing those handclap games that all girls play. And the video rules, too.

But Red really bottom-lined it the other day when I asked her why she likes the song so much: "It makes me happy." You just can't argue with that kind of logic!
