1904 - Count Basie was born.
1938 - Kenny Rogers was born.
1952 - Joe Strummer was born.
1954 - Nick Kane (The Mavericks) was born.
1957 - Budgie (Siouxsie and the Banshees) was born.
1966 - The Beatles appeared at the Busch Memorial Stadium during a heavy rainstorm. It was reportedly this gig that convinced them that they should stop performing live.
1971 - Liam Howlett (Prodigy) was born.
1997 - Alan Wren (Stone Roses drummer) was in court due to having no car insurance. He lost his temper after being asked about his earnings and he was jailed for a week.
2005 - Robert Moog (inventor of the synthesiser) died.
