"My 3 Songs" for Thursday

Posted at 2:28 PM on August 16, 2007 by Steve Seel (1 Comments)

"I'm dedicating these songs to my dad," says Emily Novak of Mpls, "because he loves these artists and we work together everyday (painting homes and whatnot if you must know), and when we hear these artists it makes the day a bit brighter. And, my dad just deserves these requests anyway!"

1) Morcheeba, "The Sea"
2) Ibrahim Ferrer, "Ay, Candela"
3) DeVotchKa, "Vengo! Vengo!"

Footie & Music come together!

Posted at 7:20 PM on August 16, 2007 by Mark Wheat (2 Comments)

The soccer season has started in the UK again, so prepare for more nonsense sentences from me about my fave team Man Utd. Of course here in the USA, David Beckham, an ex United player, is making big headlines for the MLS, well now the indie music community is joining in!!
This is an awesome start to what I hope will be a long association, pop music and footie have always gone hand-in-hand in Europe. Mass singing in the terraces is a big part of the tradition too, just imagine the New York fans chanting the new "Whooo Alright!"
