Scrabble. You know it, you love it, you can't live without it. This is true at our house. My wife and I are two of the mellowest people you'd ever want to meet. But when it comes to Scrabble, the gloves are off! No holds are barred; in fact, I've been known to take a tile, turn it over, and attempt to play it as a blank. That's how sick it can get!
An article in Thursday's Daily Telegraph described the surge in popularity of cyber-Scrabble through websites like Scrabulous. Now you can go tile-to-tile with anybody in the world. I'll admit, I just haven't gotten into it. Something about faceless Scrabble just doesn't appeal to me. I need to see the look on someone's face when I drop a "qi" on 'em!
Red has been observing her parents' ferocious Scrabble playing for some time now. It's difficult to gauge her feelings. I can't tell if she is curious or horrified. But, no matter. Laura, crack open a couple of cold ones and fire up the Scrabble board, your hubby's coming home!
