Am I reading this wrong, or did they make a faux-distressed Joe Strummer "style" Telecaster? Oh no, it has come to this.... I mean, they've been making faux punk clothes for a long time now, and I get that, (I don't love it, but I get it), but manufacturing the wear and tear on a guitar? That seems crazy to me! My guitar-playing friends can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think most musicians like to cause all of the wear and tear on an instrument, and ever scar, chip, scrape and dent tells a story. I'm guessing this has been going on for a while now, and I'm late to complain about it, but my goodness... is there really nothing authentic anymore?

Also, playing a guitar that looks like Joe's Tele will not actually make you sound like Joe....

I know what you mean. On the one hand I see it as a different way of paying homage to an artist. But on the other, it reminds me of "pre-faded" jeans, blech.
