1959 - Sandy West (founding member of The Runaways) was born.
1968 - Eric Clapton announced the breakup of Cream.
1978 - Bill Wyman was knocked unconscious when he fell off the stage during a Stones concert.
1979 - Chuck Berry was found guilty of tax evasion and was sentenced to five months in jail.
1980 - Bob Marley & the Wailers began their final UK tour.
1987 - John Hammond (producer and record company executive) died.
1997 - Chrissie Hynde married sculptor Lucho Brieva.
