Barb you just totally made my day! I was completely bummed that I missed the Heartless Bastards last November, due to a business trip.

I am so THERE on June 1!

I heard another chipmunkesque rap song on the Current today, and I want to be the first to coin the term "Chip Hop". A quick google shows that the word exists but not (as far as I can tell) in the context to which I define it.

One of my fascinations in life is knowing that SOMEONE said, for the first time, pop phrases like "Talk to the Hand." But who said it first? Is that person blue in the face convincing people that they are the originators? Are they able to lead a normal life ever again?

Now you know where to find the source of the word Chip Hop. And if you ever want to meet the founder of this phrase, I'll be on the corner of Hennepin and 9th babbling incoherently that I am "the one".

[Bowing to Botski's linguistic genius] "Chip hop" it is!

And after "Chip Hop" becomes a standard part of the vernacular, I promise to credit you whenever I use it. (Not that they'll believe me...)
