Darren from Minneapolis wanted to hear "If You Want" by Tom Vek. This is what he had to say, "Cowbelll...massive cowbell."

What are you favorite cowbell songs?

Heh...that's me...

Thanks to the Current and to Steve Seel in particular for hipping me to Tom Vek last year...yeah, I went out and bought his last CD...as well as a ton of new (to me) music...now I'm about broke...

I gotcher cowbell right here!

Heh...I had a blast doing those spots...thanks again for your hospitality...

In a cowbell play-off, who wins? Tapes 'n Tapes or Tom Vek?

Posted by Lindsay Kimball | May 1, 2007 3:39 PM

I think Super Furry Animals' "The Horn" should win any cowbell song contest. It's persistent and LOUD.

Posted by Auntie | May 1, 2007 3:46 PM

Good one Onie.

I'm going with Vek on the cowbell.

Posted by Frick | May 1, 2007 3:48 PM

Do I hear an echo?? (Unfortunately I don't know much about Tom Vek. Perhaps you gentlemen will kindly instruct me).

w00t - Michael Franti "Everybody Ona Move". I asked for "Yell Fire", but this one will do!

Posted by auntie | May 1, 2007 3:56 PM

Both excellent songs. FYI: Michael Franti & Spearhead are playing the MN Zoo this summer on July 3rd.

I'm starting a dance party in my cube right now.

[Donning headset to allow the cranking cubicle radio to eleventeen for "Heroes"]

Sigh...

Posted by Auntie | May 1, 2007 4:02 PM

w00t! My very most bestest favorite Wilco song! And I didn't even vote twice or nuttin'.

Posted by Auntie | May 1, 2007 6:02 PM

The Flaming Lips Poll is absolute torture! If I could I would put the entire Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, but I have to consider The W.A.N.D., which caused me to buy At War With The Mystics the the minute after I heard the aforementioned song. Sorry if it at all incoherent, my mind is preoccupied with the decision.

Try Rock Paper Scissors as suggested in the Death Cab for Cutie Poll posting on the blog. It's a brilliant way to solve problems!

Posted by Lindsay Kimball | May 1, 2007 8:22 PM

Dylan? The next poll is about DYLAN????

Aaaaargh! How the heck do you expect me to pick a "best" Dylan tune? [muttering] As if Bowie wasn't hard enough...

Posted by Auntie | May 1, 2007 8:51 PM

Trip Shakespeare won the most votes in the Dan Wilson poll this morning.

Incidentally, the Trip Shakespeare song that won ("Toolmaster of Brainerd") was recorded prior to Dan Wilson joining the band...this was just Matt Wilson, John Munsonand Elaine Harris...

The more you know.
