"My 3 Songs" for Tuesday

Mike Arney from St. Paul is trying a novel approach at getting MPR to consider him for employment. "I've been trying to get an internship at MPR. I have applied to all of the open website related positions since December. I know I am qualified, but I have not heard a peep. So, I guess I just need to do something to get their attention. Hopefully these songs can sublilminally persuade a few attentive listeners in the H.R. department to take a closer look at my resume'.

(By the way, Mike, you're probably not alone in your disappointment, since we really do have fewer actual internships here at the big MPR than most people assume we do...)

- a quartet comprised of drummer John Stanier of Helmet and Tomahawk, guitarist/keyboardist Ian Williams of Don Caballero and Storm & Stress, guitarist David Konopka of Lynx, and avant solo musician Tyondai Braxton.

The Maccabees "Colour It In " on Geffen
- have a similar style to Arctic Monkeys and they are based in Brighton, England

The National " Boxer " on Beggars Banquet
- they are our CD of the Week!

Parts & Labor " Mapmaker " on Jagjaguwar
- they will be the point of discussion on 'Sound Opinions' this Saturday at 9am

Astrid Swan "Poverina" on Minty Fresh
White Rabbits " Fort Nightly " on Say Hey
- have both recently come into our studios to play live
