Okay, so it's official, as Barb notes below: Elijah Wood will play Iggy Pop. Cut to: shot of millions of fans in simultaneous head-scratch.
But then, everybody also scratched their heads when it was announced that Michael Keaton would play Batman/Bruce Wayne back in the 80s (I mean, a lot of people were furious about that one, remember?). But it seems to me that that one worked. Don't you think?
So will this one work? (I personally CAN NOT see it.) And if not, who should have been tapped to play Iggy? Here's my vote (and that's assuming he could lose his English accent and adopt Mr. Osterberg's midwestern hick-twang): this guy, who's already bared his chest (and more) onstage.

I played the brand new Spoon single "The Underdog" today!
I gotta say I was a bit relieved as I had heard from an "insider" that the new Spoon record was "Jammie".
That is poisen to my ears.
