Weird Records..

Posted at 4:17 PM on May 2, 2007 by Danny Sigelman

Last summer i found this interesting looking record at a thrift store. It was made by a man named Tommy Nehls called "I Always Catch the Third Second of a Yellow Light". I had never heard of it or seen it before but it had a Minneapolis address on the label and I recognized Paul Stark's name in the credits.

I paid fifty cents for it only to find out people were paying up to $300 for this obscure Twin Cities gem.

Our friends at Rake Magazine have found out more about this rare record and what the man who made it is up to these days.

My copy was pretty beat up but I wasn't about to part with it anyway. It's a strange sounding mix of psychedelic folk and loose prog rock experimenting. In other words, right up my alley!

Sounds a bit similar to another strange favorite of mine, Dreamies, which I have played on the Current a few times during the late late hours.
