What would cause two people to get out of their car in the middle of I-694 to have a fistfight?
The Morning Show's Living and Loving correspondent B. Marty Barry speculated on what might have led to the altercation. Here's what he said:
B. Marty: It had to start with the driver. Tired of being criticized about speed, about merging, about the map … I hear the someone behind the wheel saying to the passenger:
“If you know so much, why don’t YOU drive for a change!
Then she stops the car … in the middle of the freeway … to make a point that criticizing the driver has ramifications. And she gets out.
Dale: But the passenger got out too.
B. Marty: Well … if the driver stops the car in the middle of the interstate and gets out … and you’re the passenger, what is your first priority?
Dale: I would want to get the car going again.
B. Marty: Right. And the only way to do that is to drive.
So you get out to go around to the driver’s side.
And while you’re out there on the pavement changing places, well, why not throw a few punches? And that, I think, is what happened.
Dale: Would you bet money on it?
B. Marty: I don’t bet money on anything.
Not where human behavior is concerned.
That's what B. Marty thinks. How about you?
I drive right through there to and from work every night, and during rush hour, that spot is congested and stinky. Still, getting into a fistfight in the middle of traffic? I'll keep my eyes open around that spot from now on.
I think maybe the most ridiculous/absurd detail about this whole thing is that they were in the same car (? is this true??) I initially just assumed that it was some dumb road rage deal (not that that would make it any less lame).... but these two ladies were (one would be lead to assume since they wer car-pooling) friends/associates/companions/aquaintances yada yada yada yada...c'mon..
