Tonight Pete Yorn, Steve Earle, Badly Drawn Boy, The Holmes Brothers, Joseph Arthur, M. Ward and others will celebrate the music of Bruce Springsteen for charity.
Have you seen this yet? I cannot get enough of Alanis' version of The Black-Eyed Peas tune "My Humps".
Morrissey's Sanctuary no longer in the US. (Sanctuary Records, that is).
Pitchfork's got the scoop on The New Pornographers new album.
Wilco have announced some dates.
Today In Music History:
1950 - Agnetha Fältskog (ABBA) was born.
1950 - Anna Ulvaeus (Aha) was born.
1951 - Everett Morton (English Beat) was born.
1954 - Stan Ridgeway was born.
1981 - Bob "The Bear'' Hite of Canned Heat died.
1985 - Thousands of radio stations around the world simultaneously play "We Are the World" to raise money to feed starving people.
1998 - Colin "Cozy" Powell died in a car crash.
That New Pornographers article made my day. My year, as a matter of fact. The album title? Newman comparing himself to Bob Dylan? Revealing his desire to record his own ASTRAL WEEKS-TYPE RECORD?!?? (even though, with uncharacteristic modesty, he said it wouldn't be "1/100 the record Astral Weeks was) This is the best news I could possibly receive. This makes up for the new Fountains of Wayne record being subpar.
Mac, I adore your enthusiasm! I hope to be a fly on the wall when the Blur reunion is finally announced! (it has to happen, right?)
