"Song for Red," April 21, 2007

One of my favorite things about being a dad is the very simple idea of knowing that my daughter is asleep in the next room.

One of my favorite things is hearing her get up early in the morning (and I'm talking sun barely visible over the horizon early) and sashay into our room. She never just walks into a room; she makes an appearance.

One of my favorite things is watching her eat.

OK, all together now: Awwwwwwwwwww...

Tonight's SFR is John Coltrane's version of "My Favorite Things."

i remember all too well those early morning risings - treasure them as before you know it - they will be sleeping later than you and you will be the one waking them up ( and that can be a really nice thing on a Saturday morning when you have been out late!)
