Sunday is Earth Day. A GREAT day to celebrate this planet we are lucky enought to live on! A perfect day to take a walk instead of a drive or to pick up trash around your neighborhood or to decide to never again throw your cigarette butts out the window.
I was trying to think of a few great songs to play for Earth Day. Woody Guthrie's "This Land is Your Land" & Dramarama's "What Are We Gonna Do" came to mind.
Can you think of any great Earth Day songs?
Bill, you know our taste in music is similar, but I just can't get with Dramarama. I don't want to turn this into a mini-Musicheads episode, but they don't even get the date right in that song. I mean, come on, that is ridiculous!
Off the top of my head, I'll say "I Am a Tree" by Guided by Voices. Not an Earth Day song, per se, but it rocks nonetheless.
tony, I always believed John & Co. deliberately did that with 'What Are We Gonna Do' as a statement that Earth Day shouldn't just be a certain, singular day...that every day is Earth Day.
