Our second whistling act is on stage now - Andrew Bird is playing to a big, eager, attentive and appreciative crowd. He's joined by Minneapolitans Dosh - he of the multi-instrument-playing - and bassist Jeremy Ylvisaker. It really is amazing to see Dosh play, either as a solo act or as Andrew's backing band. He's simultaneously playing drums, keyboards and an effects box. He makes us proud to be from the same town, I have to say. Anyway - the uber-hip crowd in here just can't get enough of Bird and the boys.... they're loving it, sitting cross-legged on the floor, packed as close to the stage as the equipment will allow. As crowded as it is, and as energetic as the crowd is, it is incredibly quiet in here while Andrew is talking. They're hanging on his every word. Definitely one of those artists that I feel like we've had a great connection with since we first launched, and to see him get so much well-deserved national attention is just awesome.
You weren't kidding. Here's a picture
