Texting in Texas

One last note about SXSW before I dive back into my real life: SXSW may be a festival for rockers to show their stuff, but it's also the place where you see the kids flex their techie skills. You feel old fast when you're slow at texting, trying to figure out which shows you should meet up at, where the party has moved to, which famous person just walked by, etc. Meanwhile, a fashion plate teeters past you, texting with her one hand while chatting to her friend, all while walking down the length of 6th Street in fancy heels. Let’s just say if SXSW were the old west, and I were having a cell phone texting duel, I would probably be dead.

P.S. Does an apostrophe exist in the text messaging world? My Samsung cell seems to have left out the option.

'My 3 Songs" for Tuesday, 3-20-07

Posted at 1:33 PM on March 20, 2007 by Steve Seel (2 Comments)

"These songs require you to move," says Brandon Smith of Kasson, MN, for today's set. "Each one is the perfect example of how to build a song up as it goes, to add small pieces of music to create your own personal inner-ear-canal mosh-pit."

1) Underworld: "Born Slippy Nuxx"
2) Lamb: "Gorecki"
3) Beta Band: "Dry the Rain"

So can anyone explain to me what exactly it means to be "born slippy nuxx?"

Detroit Rock City

I'm stoked to have SSM come by our studios tomorrow to play and chat. "Sick" is one of those songs I've been freaking out on.
Someone who knows me well once pointed out that the songs I like the most seem to be a variation on the Sesame Street theme song.. same beat etc.
