Wondering what to get for your new tat? Here are some suggestions that include some, uh, odder choices (NYT flash feature). Clearly, there are some corners of celebrity worship I was not aware of.

Yeesh! Of those I'd have to say peewee herman is the coolest.

Odder still is watching celebs when they meet these people. I recall seeing some dude show his tat of Weird Al to Weird Al. Talk about surreal from the celeb's perspective.

the recently openedFirst Amendment Gallery in Northeast, Minneapolis has an excellent art show of local tattoo artists that opened this past weekend. The review of the show hasn't convinced me of getting my own tattoo anytime soon but i look forward to seeing what these talented folks have branded other local denizens with.

Okay, even though I wouldn't choose to have Jack Nicholson's face screaming "Here's Johnny" at me every time I bathe, I kiiiiiiiiiinda see how some of these are iconic images of modern pop culture and cinema. But Tony Danza? TONY DANZA????? Unless Tony actually reached into a burning car to save that person from imminent death, that just seems like something that will be regretted once the tequila wears off. ("You wanna know who the boss is? I'll SHOW you who the boss is! ")

Those people in the last one are characters from the film Sin City, including Jessica Alba and Bruce Willis. Still a far cry better than Tony Danza. TONY DANZA!!!!

I saw a guy in a McDonalds about 15 years ago with a tattoo of Chester Cheetah on his arm. He was pretty cool. I thought maybe I'd get a tattoo of The Noid or Rocky Rococo 'cuz I like pizza so much, but I changed my mind...

TONY DANZA!!!!

This is what I'm sayin'. And BOB BARKER! I can just see that one in a barfight. The jacket comes off to reveal the cutoff t-shirt and huge likeness of Bob Barker on the bicep. "You wanna take this outside for SHOWCASE SHOWDOWN???"

Trying to think of locals with a celeb tattoo. Anyone? Anyone?

In other news Sin City (the comic series) was a wealth of images, most in that backhand-slap sharp-inhale high contrast. From all that graphic possibility someone chose a collage of the movie? Man, it's your skin. To each his own.
