What I learned today..

People often ask what we do in the studio when we're not talking. Personally, I am always surfing around looking for a little gem of info that hasn't already been posted in a million other places. Here are a few "gems" that I stumbled upon today.

Lily Allen and Muse have three. Kasabiain and Bob Dylan have two. I'm talking about the recently announced Brit Award nominations..

That awesome Decemberists auction is almost finished, your last chance to grab the "Colbert guitar".

Time is also running out for you to vote for your favorites in the Plug Independent Music Awards.

There's a Kurt Cobain biopic in the works that Courtney Love approves of. Ewan McGregor is rumored to be playing Kurt in the not-yet-in-the-making film.

What is it about British music that seems to draw the "indie" crowd in the States? Is it just because we have become used to the music on this side of the pond and we long for something different? Is it actually any different, or do they just have an accent?


I don't got much else to add. Except for this, I guess - less Thom Yorke, more Tom Jones!

Cobain was 27 when he died. McGregor will be 36 in March. Need I point out the problems with this casting?

He looks a young 36 and Cobain looked a very old 27. It could work.

Besides, he wasn't a Jedi when they cast him as Ben, so I think they can do this.
