OK, it's not really Rex Manning Day, but I'm just as excited as Liv Tyler was in the movie Empire Records. It's The Current's birthday today! Did you know it's also Neil Diamond's birthday today? My favorite funny man John Belushi would have been 58 today as well.
Two years ago, on January 24, The Current hit the airwaves! I guess that makes us toddlers now? Seriously though, I can't even express my joy and the love for my job on this fine day! Thanks to everyone for supporting us. You all rule. Music rules.
Two years have gone by so fast! It seems like it was only yesterday when we launched with the Atmosphere song "Shhh."
Do you remember what you were doing when The Current was born?

What more can be said?
Guess an answer to the question might be in order. Jill, I was staring at the computer screen and listening live amidst the tide of song requests and discussion comments. The memory alone makes me blink.
I was driving to work, eagerly awaiting the first song. Then I ran into work to get the live stream to work on my computer, afraid I'd miss a song. I spent the whole day chatting with friends about how rad the new radio station was.
I had to go change my undergarments. I remember the song that made me become a member was M83 don't save us from the flames. After I heard that song I said to myself, "This radio station must never die" The Edge & Rev 105 may they rest in peace.
Thanks 89.3!
I remember when I started loving The Current. My friends were in love with the station, but I wasn't convinced. Then one day I was driving back to work after lunch, and you started playing "How's It Gonna End." At the time, I was no fan of Tom Waits, but that song mesmerized me. I sat in my car in the parking lot until the signal cut out 2 verses from the end. Then I spent the afternoon sulking because I wanted to know how it was gonna end, too. I've been a fan ever since - of Tom Waits and of The Current.
