Not content to merely launch a new club in Las Vegas, Prince has also started publishing an online magazine, called "3121."

The mission of the mag? Pretty much to celebrate the Awesome Purple Sexy Greatness himself.

Sample Q&A from issue number two featuring house DJ Rashida:

3121 Magazine: Y do U think Prince trusts U with such an important job?

RA: Mmm.... Because he trusts my taste in music, my skills, my style... me! :)

3121: The main difference between a Prince audience and a normal one is....?

RA: A lof of them know ALL his tunes so I can dig a little deeper than just the hits. Play a B-side and they'll go nuts.

Given the cost of marketing campaigns these days, the sycophantic and irrelevant music press, and the crude prevarications of the tabloids, there are certainly dumber ways to spend all that vanity-leavened dough. Like, uh... well. Give us a moment. We're sure there is some dumber way.

Oh yeah, like opening a restaurant!

Meanwhile, news from the "other" Prince

    Bonnie
Bonnie "Prince" Billy has released a strange new music video for the strange new song "Ebb Tide." You can see it here at Pitchfork.

BPB is, of course, the balding bearded artist otherwise known as Will Oldham. We love his music, but we often wonder-- who is Bonnie (or Billy), and why does she (or he) apparently go by the nickname "Prince"?

Let's hope Will stays in good standing with his label and doesn't have to resort to a symbol as a moniker in the future. But if he did, what symbol would suit him best? We're partial to the double dagger ("‡") and the sz ligature ("ß").
