It's not entirely clear from his recent posts, but TV on The Radio's Dave Sitek may be either going crazy, going permanently offline, or both. Which would be a shame, because Sitek's was one of the more interesting and engaging artist blogs that we enjoyed on a semi-regular basis.
It's a strange, convoluted story but here's what we know: Someone found a disk of demos by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O. That disk had been in the possession of Sitek, but Sitek lost track of it. Whoever found it posted its contents to the Web, and something very unpleasant hit the fan.
That's when Sitek--undoubtedly very irritated that he'd somehow facilitated this victimless crime--got very publicly angry, and now has apparently entered his own shame spiral.
A note of conciliation and a word of advice: First, not that many people listen to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. True, most of them are influential music industry moguls that now are your employers. Still.
Second: Dude, you have a sordid history with CDs. If anyone should be all ones-and-zeros by now, it should be you. Stop mucking around with the portable media, will ya? What's that old saying--Possession is 90 percent of the law?
