Crazy music news for early risers at The Buffering Stream 12/14

  • The Rakes have a new album coming in March. Do you like'em? We do!

  • Yoko Ono was the target of a sordid blackmailing attempt. She's a great artist, but is she a musician?

  • Someone's making up stories! Apple counterclaims: iTunes store sales did NOT decline this year. Personally speaking, we certainly slowed up on our purchases.

  • That said, we're sort of drooling over the new Goldfrapp EP that will hit the iTunes store in four days, seven hours, and 53 seconds.

  • In a rare public outburst, Bob Dylan is trying to block release of the movie "Factory Girl." Why? Because it may (falsely) suggest that he was the cause of Edie Sedgwick's suicide.

The driver should have tried blackmailing the general public with the threat that he'd release recodings of Yoko Ono if we didn't pay up.

No teeth in that threat-- there's a new Yoko Ono record forthcoming!

I was wondering why I hadn't heard much about the "Factory Girl" film as of late.... I thought that Edie Sedgwick had gotten married and that some time had passed from the Factory days by the time she had committed suicide...?
