Mock the Vote?

Gerard Cosloy, the celebrated contrararian at the head of Matador Records, used to argue that people ought to be encouraged not to vote, given the uninterrupted string of bums that have held elective office. (That was his reasoning anyway. We don't agree one way or the other; we're completely neutral!)

But it's telling that his "Stop the Vote" campaign is now officially described as "defunct (but highly successful)" and no longer lives on the web. Cosloy has been occupying himself with a newish blog dedicated mostly to athletic entertainments. Today, though, the old curmudgeon still finds a way to make us all think twice about our sacred democratic duty.
