Australians. Even their scientists rock. Today, Reuters reports that guys in labcoats down under have developed a T-shirt that translates air-guitar movements into real-guitar sounds. In other words, they've created a shirt that air guitarists can "play." Motion sensors in the sleeves apparently transmit a signal to a receiver that then cranks out random power chords and fretboard fireworks.
That's pretty cool. But we're saving our money for a pair of footie pajama pants that can play the drums.

City Pages' Jim Walsh, Craig Kilborn, and Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme?
We bring this up as an excuse to remind you that Jim Walsh's fab hootenany band, the Mad Ripple, plays each Friday in November at Java Jack's. Check out what happens when the legendary local music scribe puts down the pen and picks up the gee-tar with his famous friends.

Just because it's on YouTube doesn't mean you want to see it. In fact, there's a good chance you don't want to see it. But you won't know that until afterward, and then you are put in the ackward position of wishing you could un-see it.
Today's random local YouTuber is from Birthday Suits, though, and it's as fun as it is harmless. You may want to hit mute and make grinding guitar sounds in your throat. Better yet, throw on last year's awesome EP from Nice and Neat Records, or open the band's MySpace page.
