  • More Halloween hangover: Scissor Sisters in crazy London gig.

  • City Pages bores Lady Sovereign to tears?

  • Ross has more on Prince's new club in Vegas.

  • Flaming Lips remix "overrated" Peaches. Working their way down to eventually remixing the laundry.

Idolator turned us on to this: Earlier this week, The Hold Steady played a Mischief Eve show in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Their warm-up band? Twin Cities stalwarts Sean Na Na. And although everyone seems to agree that the opening act was solid, what followed was--according to your point of view--either very funny or very irritating. Apparently SNN made themselves comfortable on the stage throughout the Steadies show, taking advantage of Craig Finn's magnanimous nature, and frequently upstaging the headliners with their antics. No big deal, except that they didn't use their powers for good: they ordered a steady Niagra of beverages, apparently forcing much strong drink on the Hold Steady to the point where Craig Finn could barely stand. He more or less rode the barrel over the falls, as you can see for yourself here.

We guess they don't call it Mischief Night for nothing. Can you think of any other bar bands who were notorious for playing this stupefied? If this is a bingo card, the 'Mats are your free center square.

  • Earlier: The Hold Steady at The Current.

  • Separated at Birth: Craig Finn and Peter Sellers?

Well, according to manager Jarett Oulman, the city of Minneapolis wants to revoke the Club's license to host live music, starting November 15th. Whachu gonna do about it? Here's what. Jarret writes:

"We are asking you to write a letter to your city council member and to Mayor Rybak in support of the 331 Club."

Jarret Oulman's entire letter, after the jump.
