This is the new Paul Westerberg ME580 Signature Guitar, available to you for the low, low price of $159 from Amazon or Wal-Mart. Think of it the same way you'd think of Tony Hawk skateboarding shoes, or Greg Lemond bikes, or... um... Colonel Sanders' chicken.
That plaid on the pickguard, by the way, is the authentic tartan of Clan McPunk, which--you may recall--squatted for many years at Hennepin and Lagoon before being run off by the English.

Hey Hans -
I actually love the idea of the low-cost rockstar branded guitar. Reminds me of Stephon Marbury's new $20 basketball shoes. Basically, making the branded accessory available to the people who are still enamored - and not jaded - by the thought of the celebrity brand.
I remember stopping by the Guitar Center on Sunset Strip about ten years ago, walking into the acoustic guitar room (or temple, if you will), and being excited by the presence of the Paul Simon branded Martin guitar. As I reached for it, however, a store clerk sternly informed me that it ran a cool $9000.
Anyway, I mark that as the point at which I started to turn my back on Paul Simon. All I could think was - what a prick to charge 9 grand for a guitar.
Hope all is well with you -
Adam
