She Wants Revenge, our favorite Joy Division/New Order reappropriation, aren’t entirely derivative, for sure; they're breaking some ground of their own. The robotic rockers from LA have partnered with "social networking" website Imeem to create yet another version of the rock-star homepage. The upshot? Fans can upload their bootleg video, audio, and camera-phone ephemera--all presumably with the blessings of the band.
Eventually, SWR may become big enough that singer Justin Warfield can go see a dentist for that wicked-bad toothache he seems to be nursing in every photo we've ever seen of him.
Warfield's had one of the weirdest careers in the music biz. He started off as a Prince Paul acolyte. (Check out the goofy boho-hitchhiking cover shot from his album "My Field Trip to Planet 9.") His next album was a full-on classic rock tribute...not a shred of hip hop to be found.
I sincerely suggest to you,Hans,if you want to make this blog successfull, you shoulld be al ittle less obscure for the idiots of America.
I was method acting.
This is a great blog--potentially--it supplies the People with immediate, uncensored reaction.
That's a good thing.
