I was a a fan of Mr. Finn,after his first album.
And then I saw him on TV.
No charisma,and certainly no saviour to you misbegotten Minnesotans.(Mr. Springsteen should sue this copycat.)
Meanwhile, Mr. Sellers was a genius.
Mr Finn is the flavor of YOUR year.
Not mine.
Even though, I wanted him to be a voice for us.

pfft. If there is a person/band that has been featured...well...everywhere who drops MSP into nearly every tune, let them be heard. Till someone does it better, savor the flavor. Craig isn't speaking for Barry perhaps because Craig is not misbegotten. Kill your television.

I really don't mean to be be misunderstood here.
I think Mr. Finn is a poet.
I just expected more from his second Hold Steady album.(I reserve judgement on the new album.}
I believe every artist MUST write about this world's condiition,now.
It's not just about avenues and places.
And nostalgia for your teenage romantic frustration's past.
Or a current party with a loser that speaks as eloquently as Bukowski
It's about your generation,and war, and writers attempting to save this planet --for your generation.
I have no faith in promises.
Call me "Duke".

That's a strong resemblance -- nearly as uncanny as the SXSW critic who likened The Hold Steady to "later-period Soul Asylum fronted by Charles Nelson Reilly."
