Music videos never really became the art-form that grumpy idealists hoped, but they were always an awesome way to market a band—a four minute commercial that communicated the look and sound better than any magazine story or newspaper review. Now, YouTube is in discussions with the music industry to host every music video ever recorded. We thought they were already doing that. Our dirty little secret: one of the best ways to expose yourself to a new band is to search the website for video. Also, MySpace has awesome music offerings. You'll just need to sketch out a handful of excuses when your spouse wants to know why you spend so much time on a website for teenaged girls, owned by Rupert Murdoch.
