The Soap Factory is once again mounting its "10 Second Film Festival" and is looking for entries.
The idea is to make very short films, around 10 seconds, using non-traditional equipment if possible (cellphones, digital still cameras with movie settings etc.) The deadline is June 1st. Full details can be found here.
One change this year is you are allowed to edit your entry. As the judges say, who are they to stand between you and a better movie?
The entries will be screened on the side of the Soap Factory on the evening of July 4th after the St Anthony Main fireworks. Some 3000 people turned up last year, which is more audience than some art movies get in an entire run sometimes.
Winners will be decided in 10 categories, to be decided after the judges see the entries. Categories from the past have included: The Best Sound, What the hell am I looking at?, Art House, Funny Ha Ha, Warm and Fuzzy, Moment of Zen, Special Section, Best Documentary, Most Disturbing, Kubrick Award, and Under the Influence.
