Lots to see today and also the list for the best of fest has started. You can see it here, although this is the list of holdovers which have only received one screening so far.
You can meet the cast of "Breaking Upwards" at 4.45, and there is a cracking program of two locally produced fright films, "Lo" (a love story with demons) "Audie and the Wolf" (a love story with werewolves and zombies) finished off with a zombie parody, "ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction." That's all at the Oak Street running from 6 till late.
If you are looking for something a little less blood-lust oriented, check out "Somers Town" the latest from British film maker Shane Meadows, who wrote and directed "This is England" and "Once Upon a Time on the Midlands." It's a heartfelt story about two misfit teenage boys, one a runaway from the English Midlands, and the other a Polish immigrant who become friends during difficult times. Thomas Turgoose who played the wannabe skinhead in "This is England" is brilliant in "Somers Town" as Tommo the runaway.
