Homegrown Cinema to end with a little "Love"

Posted at 9:33 PM on October 12, 2008 by Euan Kerr

The Homegrown Cinema series at the Parkway wraps up Monday evening with the World Premier screening of Dave Ash's "Love: a documentary."

The film is a bit of a head bender as it is a feature presented as a documentary made by a group of bored video makers who are meant to be shooting an industrial film about an office.

They discover the only thing out of the ordinary in the office is a guy named John Stevens. He is a financial analyst who announces that God has chosen to him to "spread love and happiness through an uncaring world." He decides the best place to start is his office.

This mission is made a little harder because John is clueless, particularly when it comes to social interactions with his office mates who think he is a loser to end all losers.

The film is Ash's first feature, and he wrote, directed, and edited it, as well as playing the hapless main character. He'll explain how he juggled it all at the screening. You can see the trailer of the film at the movie's web site
