Check out the story from NPR's Weekend Edition this week on the film festival in Chatham N.Y.
There could well be lessons for small towns in Minnesota to set up similar events. Of course it helps that the Chatham event has a pal in the film business in the shape of producer James Schamus who heads up Focus Features.
But there are plenty of film folks here too, and plenty of beautiful old movie theaters. Chatham sold 6,000 tickets in three days. Those are numbers to be reckoned with, and to think about.
