Minneapolis-born actor Mark Webber grew up poor in Philadelphia. He and his mother lived in cars and abandoned buildings for a while.
Now after appearing in such films as "Snow Day" and "Boiler Room" Webber moved behind the camera to direct "Explicit Ills" a new drama set in Philly. Starring Rosario Dawson and Paul Dano amongst others it intertwines four different tales the tales of four different families struggling with poverty and drugs.
Webber will attend the movie's local premier Saturday at the Parkway Theater in Minneapolis. The event will be a fundraiser for the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign, an organization led by Webber's mother Cheri Honkala.
